Cerreta Candy Company, a business belonging to the Cerreta family, has been established for more than half a century under the leadership of Jim Cerreta, Sr. The elder Cerreta acquired the skill of producing confectionery in a manufacturing plant located in Canton, Ohio, which was owned by his father-in-law. He then imparted the knowledge to his offspring and descendants. As of now, four generations of the Cerreta family have been managing and supervising the creation and management of our delectable chocolates and sweets.
The caramel department, along with its production of an assortment of caramel-based products, including fudge, brittle’s, Camelback’s, and caramel popcorn, is under the management of Jim Jr. On the other hand, the production of freshly roasted nuts, taffy, and cream-centered chocolates, including the highly sought-after chocolate-covered creams such as butter, maple, fudge, or peppermint, is overseen by Joe Cerreta. Joe’s approach involves integrating contemporary techniques with conventional candy-making practices, resulting in their distinct chocolate creations. Jerry Cerreta is in charge of the chocolate department, responsible for coating his brothers’ caramel and cream-centered confectioneries with the rich chocolate that sets Cerreta’s candy apart. Along with his son Tony, Jerry specializes in the production of molded chocolates, including their well-known French Mint. Additionally, Tony manages the Chocolate Enrober, where various treats such as cherries, creams, pretzels, caramels, and marshmallows are drenched in sumptuous chocolate.
Guided tours of the Cerreta Candy Company factory are available every hour, starting at 10 am and concluding at 2 pm, from Monday through Friday. By purchasing a Chocolate Tasting Tour Pass, guests can take a guided tour of the factory and experience an array of delicious chocolate samples.
