The event will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Walmart located at 15355 N. Northsight Blvd. in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Helping Scottsdale Kids Start the School Year Strong
The Cops & Kids program brings Scottsdale police officers and other public safety employees together with local children in need for a special back-to-school shopping experience.
Participating children will shop alongside local officers for important items they might otherwise go without during the upcoming school year, including:
- New shoes
- Several outfits of clothing
- Backpacks
- School supplies
- Other back-to-school necessities
Children and families are carefully selected and screened by a committee of local law enforcement officers with the goal of reaching those most in need.
But Cops & Kids is about much more than school supplies.
The Scottsdale Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #35 created the program to give local children an opportunity to interact with police officers in a positive, supportive environment while helping families prepare for a successful school year.

According to Scottsdale F.O.P. Lodge #35, the organization believes strongly in positive outreach and developing community relationships that benefit children and families throughout Scottsdale and surrounding communities.
During the event, officers aren’t simply handing children school supplies. They’re shopping alongside them, talking with them and helping create a positive experience they can remember as they begin a new school year.
